Robotics and coding: why introduce children now?
Introducing children to robotics and coding is no longer a luxury reserved for a technical elite. It has become an educational necessity. In a world where technology plays a central role, developing computational thinking from the earliest age is a considerable advantage for every child's academic and professional future.
Robotics teaches far more than programming. It develops logic, problem-solving, creativity and the ability to break a complex challenge down into simple steps. These skills, known as 21st-century skills, are exactly what tomorrow's employers are looking for, in every sector of activity.
At CLC Youth Academy, robotics workshops are designed for every age group. The youngest children (3-6) discover logic through play and hands-on activities. Ages 7-12 create their first programmes with Scratch and build simple robots. Teenagers (12-18) move on to Python and Arduino for more ambitious projects.
Beyond technical skills, robotics workshops build self-confidence. Every child learns to experiment, make mistakes, correct and persevere. This approach, combined with teamwork and public speaking as part of the Leadership Track, shapes well-rounded individuals ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow's world.
